I love language! I love the way that words come together in written form and take on a life of their own for the audience as a whole, but for each audience member individually.
The breadth and depth of colour that the written word can convey is mind-blowing, and it’s powerful beyond belief.
Over my career, I’ve written all sorts of pieces: research reports, briefing notes, event scripts, emcee scripts, websites, promotional materials, articles for trade journals and publications, case studies, grant funding applications, among other things.
I’ve also been responsible from the editorial and content management side for company websites, events, and industry publications.
Writing
In 2017, I was asked to contribute an article to Prairie Manufacturer Magazine about the women leaders who have positively impacted my professional life.
It was a privilege to work with these leaders and an honour to document the impacts they had on me in order to share the insights with readers.

Prairie Manufacturer Magazine
As Editor at Prairie Manufacturer Magazine, I took on some of the writing duties for the magazine’s feature articles, in addition to the regular Editor’s Notebook in each issue. Articles were published both under my name and noms de plumes of David Quinn and J.D. Baldwin.
In 2021, I was awarded the Gold Medal for Manitoba Story of the Year at the Alberta Magazine Awards, hosted by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association.
It’s great fun getting to research and develop a story, then getting to speak with some very interesting people doing some amazing things in manufacturing on the Canadian Prairies.

From 2019 to 2025, I served as Editor of Prairie Manufacturer Magazine, an executive-level publication providing strategic, high–impact, and in–depth insight and information to senior manufacturing leaders in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
In 2021, we were recognized as Manitoba Magazine of the Year at the Alberta Magazine Awards, and we also won the Gold Medal for Manitoba Story of the Year.
